Which Home Remedies For Acne Of The Body Are The Best?

What is body acne

Body acne is simply the acne that appears on your body. I’ve had to deal with my fair share of it, and I have to say that it is yuck!

Body acne often hurts worse than regular acne. That is because the skin on your body has bigger pores than the skin on your face, making your body acne bigger, deeper, and harder to get rid of.

In this article I will show you three popular home remedies for acne on your body, and will tell you my honest opinion about whether they will work.

Home remedy #1

The first home remedy that many people try is toothpaste (the old fashioned white kind, not the gels). I’m not really sure why people use toothpaste to dry up acne, but they do.

To use toothpaste to combat body acne, all you need to do is apply the white paste kind directly to the zit. It won’t hurt you, and it may make your skin smell minty, but in my experience it won’t help heal the acne either. I’d personally just pass on this one.

Home remedy #2

The second home remedy is Witch Hazel. Now Witch Hazel is a funny name, but it is also a natural astringent. You can find witch hazel in a bottle at drug stores for less than a latte.

To apply witch hazel, just use a cotton ball and apply it directly to the pimple. Witch hazel is very soothing, and will reduce the redness of the acne. I recommend this home remedy for mild acne.

Home remedy #3

A body wash that contains Salicylic Acid can work wonders to cure body acne. In fact using a product that contains Salicylic Acid is one of the best things you can do to at home to treat body acne.

Salicylic Acid can fight acne really well on it’s own, but when you combine it in a product that contains citric acid, you really have a winner that will clear acne fast.

This one is a little more pricey (usually about $20 a month) but is in my experience the best cure for a home remedy for acne on the body.
