Acne is primarily an inflammatory problem of skin that is characterised by pimples on the face, chest, and back. When the pores of the skin become blocked with oil, dead skin cells or bacteria will occurs. The sebaceous glands that produce oil lie simply beneath the skin’s surface. It basically generates sebum, an oily secretion which helps to preserve the flexibility of the hair and also moisturizes the skin. The sebaceous glands and its hair follicles within which they are found are called sebaceous follicles.
