What are the red flags for Aspergers?
Aspergers is a different type of Pervasive Developmental Disorder or Autism Spectrum Disorder that was named after Dr. Hans Asperger. He was the one who revealed this category of Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
Unlike the traditional autism which develops late in language, kids suffering from with Asperger’s syndrome displays very well developed intellectual performance.
Children who endure this kind of Pervasive Developmental Disorder have normal speech development. They usually have standard to above normal intellect that is why they are sometimes describes as peculiar or odd. People with Asperger?s syndrome can enter into debates and may introduce the most irrational point of views.
Obsessive behaviors or lack of communication and social skills may be exhibited by people afflicted with this kind of Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Because while others are able to get by well with other people some may also grow to form disorders such as anxiety or despair. 1. Resisting change in his/her practice. If changes are to be made, they more often than not are uneasy or distraught. They typically like to do things the normal way or the practice they have engaged themselves.
2. People who suffer from Asperger syndrome find struggle in imagining. Thinking conceptually is hard for them. They tend to take things concretely and factually.
3. These children also grow obsessive interests in certain aspects, while children with Asperger syndrome may be short of imagination and be keen on routines.This can be a pastime or collecting some stuff they are drawn to. Usually, people with Asperger syndrome have their interests in memorizing facts of a specific topic or can be arranging things in a way they like.
4. People with AS are extra likely to have sleep problems, including trouble in falling asleep, recurrent night-time awakenings and early crack of dawn awakenings. Aspergers Syndrome is also linked with high levels of alexithymia, which is difficulty in identifying and unfolding one’s emotions. Although Aspergers syndrome, lower sleep quality, and alexithymia are linked, their causative relationship is unclear
