Causes of Panic Attacks – Are there Any Physical Factors?

Did you know that panic attacks are not just caused by psychological factors? Panic attack is usually associated from fear or phobia. There are some situations that an experience can cause traumatic situation that leads to phobias. Once the experience reoccurs, the panic attack is triggered. This is why some experts believe that panic attack can be prevented if the phobia is overcome. However, panic attacks are cause by other factors, including physical factors.

Your body goes through different physical changes: it lengthens, expands, grows big or shortens. The changes may cause psychological problems and usually the body will feel threatened due to this change. If your body continues to feel threatened, it will reach to a point that it will have a panic attack. Yes, there seems no real fear in this situation. The fear that the body feels is irrational and it is in the mind. This is why most people can’t understand people with panic attacks.

Since your body suffers from lack of nutrients, it may also trigger panic attacks. Vitamins and minerals are essential for you to survive and if your survival rate is threatened due to insufficiency, you will have panic attacks. Apparently, you need nutrients to perform your tasks efficiently and if you force your body to do heavy tasks without essential nutrients, your risk to panic attack is very high.

There are some medications that your body might not recognize and as a reaction, the body will feel threatened and cause panic attack. However, panic attack usually occurs due to sudden withdrawal. This is usually common to drug addicts in the state of withdrawal. They feel threatened after the only things they are dependent to, were taken away from them.

The state of withdrawal causes the body to move into a state of shock. Drug addicts will start to hyperventilate and later on will start having a panic attack. This is normal. Aside from medications, too much consumption of alcohol can also trigger panic attacks. If you feel you have high risk to panic attack, seek a medical doctor as soon as possible.
