The imagination of a child can sometimes harm him. The things you saw in the television can become real in the eyes of a child. After watching horror movies, children have the tendency to make a reality out of it. They would scream in terror and won’t sleep as the night slowly moves to its peak. It seems a natural reaction from a child however if this is not address, things might get worse. Learn to acknowledge that children are still very vulnerable from fears.

Your child’s fear after watching a horror movie may be accelerated if he is left in his room alone and in total darkness. As parents, we must understand that children need to cope up first before they are left alone. Our children have to learn independency or else they will suffer from constant panic attack. Otherwise, the child will get hyperventilated every time he is in the dark.

Before we tuck in our children, we must assure that they feel as secured as possible. Also, bear in mind that the foods that we intake may affect the way we view life. In other words, we should let the children eat sufficient amount of nutritious foods and keep they away from heavy foods before sleeping.

In addition, don’t contribute to his anxiety and stress. For instance, talking about the man inside the closet that takes children and watching horror movies before bedtime can widen the imagination of a child and he will feel threaten all the time.

If the child is still hunted by panic attacks, it is wise to seek medical advice as soon as possible. Probably, the child is suffering from something more. Keep in mind that the child’s sleep is at stake here and if he can’t have enough sleep, his stress level will fluctuate dramatically.
