Learn About Agoraphobia

Your life is going along the normal path that you’ve set out when suddenly without any warning terror has you in its grip. You feel weak and helpless. Your heart’s pounding and you have trouble breathing. You may even wonder if you’re having a heart attack or if you’re about to die. When you finally go to see a doctor, you might even be told there’s nothing physically wrong with you.

It is no wonder when the attacks hit you are wondering what is causing all these problems. When you suffer from subsequent attacks, you finally get the idea that these attacks only appear when certain conditions are met and possibly even at locations you have been to so this is a good hint to start looking for the cause of your mental attacks. Doctors and physicians are finding it impossible to determine what is wrong with you because all the health problems are caused by mental pressure.

The first thought that comes to mind would be you have a heart attack or you are dying. Worse, the visit to the doctors may leave you baffled because they cannot find anything wrong with you after all the lab tests.

So when you next suffer from an attack you wonder what’s wrong with you. You find that certain situations will bring on these frightening attacks and this will be your first clue that you’re experiencing a panic attack. Panic attacks are not physical conditions, and that is why your doctor might have had trouble diagnosing your complaint.

After extensive research by the doctors and experts, they have come out with the conclusion that the situation of the patient suffering from serious mental disorders would deteriorate and worsen if left untreated for a long period of time. Under most cases the patient would report such symptoms associated with Agoraphobia as soon as they suffer their first anxiety attack. This happens because after you have gone through the physical and mental pain of the first attack, your mind is preparing you for the next attack without you knowing it and when you are near locations or situations which are similar to the first event, you then feel the symptoms of Agoraphobia. You feel weak in the knees and vulnerable but you cannot help it. You might have to change the normal way that you live your daily life because the never ending attacks and the fear of the forthcoming attacks would make you live in fear everyday so you have to make changes to avoid facing it again. Even though the attacks can happen to anyone at any given time and place without any prior warning, but we can try and determine the source of the attacks by looking for the first place or location where the very first attack happened.

An Agoraphobia patient would do anything possible to prevent themselves from going to certain places which create conditions where they feel would cause another impending attack. As the situation worsens, they would avoid more and more places and in the end they would rather stay at home all day rather than going out for a while.

As a result, this detrimental action would backfire since we are locked up all day long in the house. After certain period of time, we would suffer anxiety attacks even when trying to do normal daily routines outside the house. One of the symptoms of the attack, the fast heart rate, would also cause a serious problem for the individual because we think we are suffering from heart failure or heart attack.

After reading through this article, now you might realize how dangerous and harmful the anxiety attack problems can be. In order to prevent further harm, individuals who suffer from the illness should go look for advice and consultation with the doctors as soon as possible and get treated before it becomes serious. Then, you cannot help but to restrain yourself from going out of the house because everyday your fear of going out into crowded places keeps you there.
