The Effect Of Anxiety Panic Attacks On Your Life.

Anxiety panic attacks can be a great burden. It takes over control of your body and there seems nothing that can stop it. Although you are mentally aware what it is, you are not able to stop because you want to. Physically you have symptoms like chest pain, difficult breathing, a racing heart, problems with swallowing or sweats. Even orientation in a room can become a real challenge when everything appears to spin around. All this is very overwhelming. The best thing is to go home as fast as possible, but only when you are still capable of driving a car.

Anxiety may develop at any age in a person’s development. Many times when it develops in adults it is following some type of trauma. This is often referred to as post traumatic stress disorder. This disorder is quite complex and takes a different approach than dealing with the treatment of anxiety. Many members of the military develop post traumatic stress disorder as a result to exposure to intense military action. For them anxiety is one of many complicated symptoms.

I visited many doctors to find a cure for my anxiety panic attacks. The majority of them can only offer you a drug to suppress the symptoms. In some cases these drugs are sedative and capable of keeping your attacks under control. But after a certain period your body seems to adapt to the medication and you need a higher dosage to achieve the same results. When you decide to stop with the medication, then very soon the panic attacks are back in full swing.

Anxiety support groups have helped me somewhat, but only a little bit. It is nice to have an anxiety support group where you can vent your frustrations at being unable to control your social anxiety disorder, but just being able to vent doesn’t really help the problem go away. Don’t get me wrong – having a social network who understands what you are going through is extremely important. Nonetheless, it is not enough to treat the symptoms of anxiety panic attacks.

Many people seem to promise some novel cure or other for anxiety panic attacks. Many people think that herbs are the solution, but the anti-anxiety herbs that I have tried are no good at all. Some of them are mildly sedative and will help to stem an anxiety panic attack, but then I run into the problem of dependency again. Meditation has helped me quite a bit, but it has not cured the problem for me. When I meditate, I am definitely less prone to get anxiety panic attacks, but I still get them from time to time. I am hoping that through a combination of different strategies, I will eventually be able to cure them. I have begun seeing a psychiatrist and that has helped somewhat, but the results are slow to take effect. Currently I am researching a new treatment that directly deals with the organ in the brain that is responsible for triggering an attack. The reviews and testimonials give me a lot of hope.

Marcelo Quijanios is a freelance journalist. Currently he is investigating a new method to relieve him of his anxiety panic attacks. The testimonials about this method are very interesting and claim to given relieve a lot of people in the past.
