Is It Safe For Diabetic Persons To Drive?
Research
New research put forth by Reuters Health in New York has demonstrated that, yes, drivers with diabetes can be at risk for more dangerous driving if they are not careful with their diabetes treatments.
A survey was done with diabetic patients of 450 adult drivers out of which 50% were confirmed that they face a disaster when the sugar level is lower which involves both gender aged over 40 years. They too belong to Type 1 diabetics or insulin needier that were prolonged with over 26 years. This survey was done by University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We are supposed to change the tire when it is found to be flat while driving, so should the low blood sugar driver. Dr. Daniel Cox, the head of this survey, compared the diabetic driver with lower blood sugar to a flat tire driving.
More than 50% come across some disaster as they confuse and separated others while driving. To overcome that they need to be give up their driving and make sure that there was no accident. Not more than 3% accidents are caused due to low sugar level.
The Ending
While there is nothing to suggest that those patients suffering from diabetes should not drive, there is much to suggest that diabetics need to be extremely careful about checking insulin levels prior to driving and ensuring the best healthcare that they can – for the safety of themselves and for others on the road.
