How Many Calories Should I Take In To Maintain Or To Lose Weight?

When you hear about weight loss your intellect can not help itself but to think about losing calories so as to lose weight / fat. But do you know that losing too many calories too swiftly can basically make you gain weight? Like a large amount of it?

Our body has this natural defense / survival mechanism that reacts when something that the body desires all of a sudden “disappears”, that’s the reason why you see folk surviving 4-5 days without food in the middle of a jungle or something. When you lose too many calories or if you lose them to fast, the body’s natural survival mechanism kicks in and begins to replace the missing calories by consuming other proteins and muscle tissue, thus why you see folks that go on diets getting fatter rather than slimmer. Because you are not consuming a large amount of your body’s fat, you lose pounds but you lose it because your muscles get “smaller”.

Then when you may start eating again, because of the calorie hole in your body you may put on weight 3x as faster then you would continually do. I’m hoping all of this makes perfect sense to you, because its time to forget about pill popping weight reduction programs and start losing or maintaining your weight in a healthy and natural way.

A pound of fat is 3.500 calories, so if you want to lose 1 pound of fat you need to lose 3.500 but you have to do it in a controlled and healthy way, without rushing things and without eating hamburgers all day 24×7 or stakes if you go out to eat.

If you want to maintain your weight just make absolutely certain you do not go mad with calories, if you’d like to get rid of some weight make sure you lose them in a good way so that you don’t put your body trough lots of stress.
